Original letter which has been addressed to our President by the Mercantile Firm of Jamieson, How & Co., praying that one of Her Majesty's Ships of War may be allowed to anchor in the Western part of the Harbour for the protection of that quarter of the Colony, and we shall be obliged by your giving the prayer your favorable consideration - so far as the Service will admit - until a regular and sufficiently strong Police is organized.
